This is a rehearsal video for the test.
Den-no-Ichi-i is generally performed at Jo 序 (low speed).
Here, the specific assignment is complete stops, something many people struggle to master.
Kaisho 楷書 (Shu 守) is the stage in which movements are distinctly segmented.
However, fully separating each movement is difficult.
Accordingly, this video emphasizes coming to a complete stop between every movement.
Most practitioners cannot achieve stillness that is both quiet and correct.
Yet with proper control of movement, it becomes possible.
In stillness, it is essential to maintain correct posture and shape while releasing as much tension as possible, with no strain whatsoever.
This is an extreme training method, but trying it at least once can markedly elevate your level.
Executing techniques swiftly in a single action is difficult, and performing them slowly in segmented phases is also not easy.
Only by training both in balance does the art become truly suited to real combat.
